We want to think our life isn’t just some random chance. We want it to have meaning. And through that, we want to understand our history, and comprehend where we came from. This comic marries autobiographical realism and fantasy fiction. It is a story that entertains, as well as being an account of what my family endured, and their struggles in order to survive against insurmountable odds. It is prequal or origin story. For me, a language barrier has always ruptured the connection to my more distant family. But this tale has anchored me to a new found understanding towards my heritage. Welcome to my family’s legacy. I’m proud to share it with you.
